The Cumann Staire - History Society of Mary Immaculate College (CMS) was rekborn as an active student society on their Limerick city centre campus at the beginning of the 2005 . This year (2011-12) has started off with a trip to the fascinating multi-phase prehistoric site of Loch Gur. During the rest of the year the plans are to have the usual mix of guest speakers on a variety of historic topics and a trip to the CCS-IHSA Annual Conference up the new motorway in Cathair Na Gaillimhe. Check out our very active facebook profile for information on events and all things historic!
Tá an coláiste, a bunaíodh sa mbliain 1898, suite cóngarach do lár Cathair Luimnigh i gceantar lár-iarthair na hÉireann.
Tá Coláiste Mhuire Gan Smál bródúil as a cháil mar institúid chomhbhách ina léirítear fíor-spéis sa duine aonair.
phearsanta chomh maith.
Mary I was established as a dedicated primary teacher training college in 1898 by Bishop Edward Thomas O'Dwyer,
Roman Catholic Bishop of Limerick. From 1974 to 1991 Mary Immaculate College was a recognised college of the
National University of Ireland; since 1991, degrees have been accredited by Ollscoil Luimnigh - the University of Limerick.
MIC is situated in the southern suburbs of Limerick City, within ten minutes walking distance of the city centre.
Students have easy access, therefore, to the social and cultural amenities of this historic city.
