The Heritage Society is a student society of the Galway campus of GMIT presenting many guest speakers covering topics from history, archaeology and geneology.

Heritage Studies at GMIT seeks to create an awareness of the variety and richness of our past - natural, built, oral and literary - and how this impacts on the overall consciousness of modern individuals, communities and societies. The heritage studies programme will provide you with a broad-based knowledge of natural and human heritage through modules of study on archaeology, folklore, genealogy, geography, geology, history, literature, music and natural history. While the focus is on Ireland, the programme is set within the broader framework of European culture and history.
