The annual conference of the CCS - IHSA is the primary opportunity in Ireland for students of history to meet and was
first organised in Newman House of UCD in Dublin in 1950, with representatives of the five Irish universities then extant
attending. Students from Ireland and those studying Irish history abroad present papers at this event, to which all history
students are welcome.
In honour of that very first such conference in 1950 the 2010 conference was jointly hosted in Dublin by the history
student associations of TCD and UCD. Congratulations to the organising team lead by Giulia and Declan on a very large
and successful event and best wishes to next year's hosts, Coláiste na hOllscoile Corcaigh - University College Cork.
There are
four cash prizes awarded for conference papers and these will be published alongside
other select papers in the new peer reviewed electronic journal of the CCS - IHSA.
